The most common causes of this issue are: Overall, a must have for any PSP owner.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. For newcomers, though, both of these issues should go along fine. However, there are a couple of tech issues, the most noticeable being a large frame slowdown during special moves lik e Magicks, and the screen is stretched slightly to fit the new aspect ratio. War of the Lions adds on several improvements to all of this, featuring a significantly revamped translation, CG cutscenes, new classes, and multiplayer. The story, however, is what really makes this game such a cult classic, being darker and more intricate and emotional that what would be expected. Featuring a very in-depth and highly customizable battle system with features like the job system, it is among the best combat systems or maps to be featured in any SRPG (among the likes of Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and others), and a must-have for fans of the genre, Final Fantasy, or RPGs in general. Read full reviewįinal Fantasy Tactics, originally released on the PS1, is an instant classic. I feel lukewarm about this version because of the port issues, but I am enjoying this excuse to play Tactics again. There are a couple of new battle scenes that I don't think add anything to the story, and are boring because your playable character is so OP. At least one of the new job classes looks absolutely useless. They've added another playable character, but he's pretty much like Ramza. There's some new content in the game but I don't think it adds much. There are a couple of poignant scenes that are ruined for me because of the emotionless, unrelatable voice acting. I like the new cut scenes because they make good use of the artistry and character design but, in my opinion, the voice acting for the two main characters stink. I think a lot of time they made more sense in the original translation. They changed the names of many abilities, which is unfortunate. There are a couple of scenes that I felt were more powerful in the original translation, and other scenes improved, especially because the few crappy translation issues from the first game are gone. It was hard for me to get used to, but I've decided I like it, for the most part. The game has a new translation of the dialogue that's very Lord of the Rings. It was easy to do but I'm still irritated about it. I installed custom firmware and a patch on my PSP to override both of these "issues" in War of the Lions. Also, to make the game widescreen all they did was stretch it. Actions seem to take much longer to complete and are down right painful to sit through when you're targeting more than o ne unit on the battle map. I have some issues with this port, the main one being the intentional slow down of battle animations. I still have my PS1 version, but thought I'd finally give the PSP one a shot and make note of the differences. This game is one of those classic strategy RPGs that is a must play for any fan of the genre. The job system is satisfying and there are many ways to customize your characters in ways you like. The music is excellent! One of those kind of games where a song gets tied to your memory of a great scene in the game. The story is really good, although maybe a little hard to grasp because of all the conspiracies involved. I'm a big fan of the PS1 version of this game. Combat against an Ad-Hoc opponent is completely customizable, and players may adjust a handful engagement rules including locking weapons and special knock back conditions. Gamers may duel against friends through an Ad-Hoc connection or battle with them through a series of quests obtained from the Tavernmaster. War of the Lions features a storyline to follow and acres of land to explore, but the game is designed to focus on multiplayer content. War of the Lions adds Onion King and Dark Knight to the roster, bringing the total paths of study to 22. As in the original, gamers have many career choices for their character ranging from samurai to arithmetician. During the journey characters from other Final Fantasy titles make cameo appearances. Players take on enemies seen in the original release and new bands of marauders as both Delita and Ramza. Two dukes named Duke Larg and Duke Goltanna Ovelia, battle for the title of regency in the king's court. Political uprising, murder, class warfare, and manipulation are only a small part of the overlying influences that affect their lives, and a mission to save the princess draws these two knight apprentices into the center of a governmental dispute. This release centers on the lives of two childhood friends, Ramza Beoulve and Delita Heiral, living in the world of Ivalice. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is an expansion of a series that started on the PlayStation in 1998.
